CBM Carbon Reduction Commitment Seminar - 30 March 2010
As promised, the Environment Agency has published further guidance concerning the Carbon Reduction Commitment (CRC) Energy Efficiency Scheme, with more to come. Even so, many companies are still confused and have not yet recognised the significance of the legislation and how it might affect them. It is very probable that you will have to take some action. This is a mandatory scheme and the penalties for failure to register by 30 September 2010 are a £5,000 fine and £500 per day until complete. Therefore, if you are in any doubt as to what you need to do, then please come along to this seminar to gain information on what you need to do to comply.

Teach-In Seminar: The application of forging technology in high performance motorsport - 11 March 2010
As engineers seek to optimise the performance of cars in high end racing series such as F1, NASCAR, GP1, they are turning more and more to the benefits offered though the utilisation of advanced precision forging techniques and improved material characteristics due to hot-working. This presentation will give an overview of the demanding environment in which forged components are out-performing other manufacturing techniques and highlight the development of forging techniques specifically tailored to the motorsport industry.

CBM / FERA event: Making sure the wheels don't come off - 04 March 2010
On 4th March 2010, there will be a technical seminar on fastener performance and assembly at the National Metalforming Centre in West Bromwich, with three speakers who are known authorities in their subjects. The seminar is relevant to the designers, specifiers, and users of threaded fasteners, and is concerned with various aspects of the durability of bolted joints. An outline of the three talks is given below.
The seminar will start at 10am, with registration and coffee at 9.30, and should be finished by 1pm. A buffet lunch will be served afterwards.
